PUPPY LETTER TO OUR FAMILIES
Congratulations on the new puppy addition to your family.
I would like to give everyone a run down of what I will be providing for your puppy and what you will need for your puppy by the time you pick him/her up.
The following is a list of the items that will be in your puppy kit that you will not need to buy:
*Plush animal
*Chew bones
*Sample of Life's Abundance Puppy Food (see notes below)
*Small blanket (this blanket will have mom and littermates smell on it to help your puppy feel more secure with the transition)
*I will also provide a puppy manual with information about training and caring for your new puppy. This will include a "Feeding and Crate Training Schedule" that you can follow at home to make training successful. Of course this will include a copy of his/her medical records to take with you to the first veterinarian appointment, your 2 year health warranty and also registration papers.
Below is a list of items that you will need to buy before coming to pick up your puppy.
*Container for food
*Two-sided brush
*Puppy shampoo
*Small food and water bowls
*Leash (4-6 foot) & collar (6 to 8 inches) (I do not provide these because most families like to pick out their own colors.) Note: you may want to purchase a cat collar with a bell so you know where puppy is at all times..
*18x24" wire dog crate (this is the type that has a divider inside to limit his/her space.
*Soft plush baby blanket (to line the bottom of his/her crate for comfort). It would also be beneficial for this blanket to have the family’s “smell” on it for bonding purposes.
*PETMAKER Puppy Potty Trainer Grassy Mat - The Indoor Restroom for Pets 20 x 25 in - This is optional, but a good idea if you will need something for your puppy to train with on days that are cold, rainy or when you have to be away from home longer than 3 to 4 hours. You can find this at WalMart.com or Amazon.
*North States Superyard – I highly recommend this item. This will help tremendously with house training and will provide a place for your puppy to play when you cannot keep your eyes on him. You can find this at Walmart or Meijer in the “Infant Section”, or online.
*Puppy food - If you are choosing Life's Abundance Puppy (I highly recommend you do - see notes below), you will need to order it or have me order it at least 3 business days ahead of your pick up date.
Keep in mind that you will need a light sheet or blanket to cover the crate when puppy sleeps so that activities outside of his crate do not disturb him. This also helps to create a "den like" area for your puppy.
NOTE!! Puppy Food!
I also wanted to let everyone know the type of puppy food that your puppy has been on so that you will have plenty of time to decide if you want to keep him/her on the same food or choose something else.
A word about the food:
I have spent a lot of time studying about the best type of dog food for our dogs and puppies. In my conclusions, I believe that there is no better food out there than a brand called "Life's Abundance" Premium-All Natural Grain Free All Life Stages Health Food for puppies and adult dogs. This food is completely balanced with everything our puppies need to grow and flourish the way they are designed to. The other great thing about this is that the company will ship it right to your front door on a 17 week schedule so your puppy's food is never sitting on a shelf somewhere getting stale - It's guaranteed to be shipped fresh. I have also compared the price to the other premium puppy foods out there and feel that they are very comparable, especially when you consider that you don't have to feed as much Life's Abundance to meet the same nutrition level. I am inserting a link to their website below for you to go and check out why I believe in this food. Please click the link below to order a 18 pound bag and set it up on autoship every 17 weeks. I am also including a few links to the puppy shampoo and treats that I recommend from this company.

The time is getting very near and I know everyone is very anxious to bring your puppy home. This is an exciting time for all of us! As the time approaches, PLEASE feel free to call me or e-mail me with any questions that come to your mind. I am always here for you, even if you think it's a silly question. This is a learning process for everyone, so please always ask.
Have a wonderful week!
